Inner Waves

Immersive, interactive installation, 2023-24
Noor Riyadh Light Festival Exhibition

“When you touch your reflection in the water, do you reach the water in you?”

ARTWORK.

Inner Springs is an interactive sculptural instrument that allows viewers to discover their inner voice through auditory-tactile synesthesia. It uses water's transmitting qualities to draw out the inner voice and let it sing.

The viewer is invited to touch the instrument's surface, consisting of several water-filled vessels. The interaction between the water within the viewer's body and the water inside the installation triggers it to play sounds, filling the space with music and light.

'Inner Waves' transcends traditional art forms and redefines the boundaries of interactive art by offering an immersive experience that resonates with the soul. This interactive sculptural instrument, designed to evoke a sense of wonder and introspection, acts as a conduit, bridging the gap between the tangible and the ethereal. By harnessing the transformative power of water, Weber invites audiences to rediscover their innermost voice, awakening a symphony of auditory-tactile synesthesia that resonates deep within.

What sets 'Inner Waves' apart is its reliance on the viewer's physiology. As visitors interact with the installation, the water within their bodies harmonizes with the liquid essence of the artwork. A magical connection is forged with each gentle touch of the installation's surface, and a captivating fusion of sound and light transforms the space into a sanctuary of self-expression. It is a celebration of the human spirit, where every movement becomes a note in the grand composition of life.

PROTOTYPE.

From February until August 2023, the artwork prototype was in the artist’s studio and invited visitors to interact with it.

“The work is a song of hope and inner faith in our dreams and latent potential. It is a call for expression and for our internal songs to flow.”
